Sarah Michelle Gellar's "The Ringer" Heading To CW

Deadline reports that Sarah Michelle Gellar's pilot "Ringer" will in fact be picked up for the fall. The series was originally developed by CBS, but in a surprising twist, it is now going to the network's sibling, The CW.

The show
centers on Bridget, a troubled young woman on the run from the mob who hides out by inhabiting the life of her wealthy twin sister, Siobhan, until she learns that her twin’s life has a bounty on it as well.

This marks the return of SMG to the network that replaced the WB and UPN, the two networks which aired her hit seriesBuffy the Vampire Slayer”. It also gives CW a major star that has huge following in the network's 18-34 demographic.

With “The Ringer” already picked up and “The Secret Circle” pending to be ordered, it is unclear whether there is going to be enough space for other shows like “Hart of Dixie” or “Awakening”. As for the bubble shows, “Nikita” and “One Tree Hill” are expected to return, “Hellcats” is less certain though still in contention.
